Over the past eighteen years, I have worked as a therapist in a variety of mental health settings including a psychiatric hospital for children and adults, a residential facility treating children, adolescents and their families, and in private practice settings in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the Denver area. In addition, I have training and licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families to help them explore their past, achieve healing, make meaning of their present lives, and to move forward each day. My approach to therapy consists of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and attachment theories such as Object Relations models. I also use Emotionally Focused Techniques (EFT) as well as incorporate the knowledge and structure of John’s Gottman’s work with couples.
